Adelaide Clarke is an ambitious yet caring girl. She is a veteran of the American Revolution. But she would still call herself a witnessing victim. Adelaide has lost many things because of this Revolution she chose to write in this journal.
For many, the American Revolution was disgrace. It was a horrendous rebellion against laws that defied human rights. Some people would call Adelaide a veteran, but she would call herself a victim.
Losing things is a pain to many, especially the British. They lost many things that changed for the colonists. Such as having political powers in the hands of ordinary men. Since monarchy was not the governing system for the colonists. They also never judged someone for the way their parents were, which was big news back for the colonists. Lastly, something that changed that they made land expansion possible.
Something that continued was slaves, only having white rich men in charge, and separation of the church and the state.
