Unbroken is a book about Louie Zamperini, an Italian born in Olean, New York, who went from Track star to stranded in the ocean to Prisoner of War. In this 307-page book, you’ll experience Louie’s adventures as he runs in the Olympics, joins the Air Force, survives the high seas, and survives PoW Camp under Japanese watch. This book will give you the Thrill of an action-adventure book while being historically accurate! What’s the Flying Coffin? How did Louie survive 47 days on a raft? What happened to Gaga the Duck? These questions will all be answered as soon as you read this book!
The First central idea page: I had to brainstorm about different central ideas my book was giving me, and these were the central ideas I came across.
My Thought Map: I needed to track my thoughts to understand why Louie was so desprate to escape POW camp.
My Research page: I needed to understand parts of the story better, so I did research apon a topic of my choosing. (B-29 superfortress)
My Central Idea Page: I realized that in my story, Louie perservered through every challenge.
