The found poem I wrote was taken from the short story “Lather and Nothing Else” by Hernando Tellez. It shows the internal conflict of the Protagonist, and Captain Torres. In the rising action of the story, this conflict illustrates that the barber is faced with a difficult choice: to kill a man who has killed many of their man; or let him go free and face the rebels? The barber comes out as meticulous and precise in his craft, and he considers his razor to be a symbol of ability and authority. He takes his responsibilities seriously, and he is hesitant to use his razor for anything other than its intended purpose, as it shows in here “No, sir. You came in to be shaved. And I do my work honorably.” In the end, the conflict is solved by the barber not killing him, and it was shown that Captain Torres knew he was a revolutionary after all.
