“It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees” -Zapata

This is the Mexican Revolution in Plain English. We start this revolution by introducing Porfirio Diaz, a corrupt president who ruled for 30 years. Eventually, people had gotten sick of him so a new canident came into power, his name was Fransisco Madero. He ran against Diaz but sadly was then put in jail. When he escaped prison he went to the united states and 5 days later (MADERO- it says Diaz in the video because like I said it was my first draft) he came back and made a plan/started to think of an uprising. After all of this uprising happens Madero becomes president but is again corrupt and lies to the people of three revolutionaries standing apart from the crowd, their names were Emiliano Zapata, Fransico Villa, and Pascual Orcorzo. They helped get Madero out of power but it was Huerta (Madero’s general who had his men kill him off) who made sure he was gone, Huerta then created a military dictatorship that almost nobody liked. That along with the fact that he murdered Madero was more than enough to take him out of power so after 17 months he was gone. The year is now around 1914-1917 and there is a lot of infighting among the revolutionaries on who should be president. After lots of battles and discussion Carrazza self proclaims himself as president which lasted until 1920 where is he is murdered. Finally, after these 10 years of civil war, Obregon leads Mexico into more prosperity and peace.
