Freedom by the execution of the King and Queen

The French Revolution Started in 1789 and ended in 1799. The French Revolution was a huge event and a turning point because a lot of things changed after the French Revolution. King Louis XVI was the King of France during the French Revolution. The cause of the revolution was that Louis kept wasting money partying, even though he was aware that third estates were starving. Third estates had no vote rights during the estates general, so they started the French Revolution. In our video, we included Estates General, the National Assembly, The storming of the Bastille, the Flight to Varennes, the execution of Louis and Marie Antoinette, and the rise of Napoleon.

This is our French Revolution Common Craft Video made by Sophie and Rosy.

Am I a Humanist?

Am I a Humanist

I think I am 80% Humanist. I strongly agree on renaissance individualism and education, agree on ancient ideas into practice, and disagree on religious faith. Overall, I agree most of Renaissance Humanism.

my name is June, not Fish Eyes

I chose “Tuesday of the Other June” by Norma Fox Mazer for my found poem.

The conflict the poem is about

“Tuesday of the Other June” is an external conflict. Antagonist is June M, she called June T a “Fish eyes”, “Buffalo brain”, and “Turkey nose”. The protagonist is June T, she got bully by June M, but at the end she embarrassed June M in front of everyone. The story is about bullying a girl, who has a same name. June M and June T met each other in the swimming pool. June M called June T a “Fish Eyes”, just because they have a same name. Everyone in her swimming class called her “Fish Eyes”.  Since one of the external conflict is Person vs Person, I think “Tuesday of the Other June” is an external conflict, it is June T vs June M and June T vs Everyone in her swimming class”.

Concept of my poem

My poem represents perspective of June T.  My poem includes the first encounter of June T and June M, how people treated her, what she wanted to say, and how much she hated Tuesday. “What’s your name?”, “June.”, and “Wrong. June is my name and your name is “Fish Eyes” is the first thing they said when they introduced each other. “Everyone called me Fish Eyes” is how people treated her. “No. No. No. No more” and “What did I do” is what June T wanted to say. She wanted to say it, but she didn’t, because she could’ve imagine what will come next. “Tuesday is an awful day” this is how she indicated how much she hated being with June M.

Graphic design and artwork of the poem

The font indicates June T’s feeling and the way people treated her. “Fish Eyes” with a blue box’s font shows that the word “Fish Eyes” was a word that she most hated. The color shows a feeling of June T. Red is madness, blue is sadness, green is pain. My background image represents how people saw June T. The reason why the background is black is because there was no one who helped June T when everyone was calling her a Fish Eyes. Fishes are about how people saw June T.
