Statement of Intent
My triptych’s message will be to use ordinary objects and architecture in unexpected ways, transform familiar forms into abstract representations, and highlight their true beauty. Using abstract photography, I will capture the patterns and shapes hidden in the old architecture and environment of the 798 Art District, transforming familiar structures into abstractions. I want my audience to understand that it’s not the tool we use to take photos that matters, but how we use it to capture meaning and perspective. For inspiration, I will try to find a photographer who uses techniques to transform daily objects into abstract photography. In my opinion, not just for abstract photography but also the other variety of types of photography, the photographer matters, not the place we’re in.
