Are You a Renaissance Humanist?

Overall, I highly agree with humanism and humanists. In ancient China, one of the poems “Invitation to Wine” by the “Immortal Poet” Li Bai, there is a sentence saying “You should be full of joy when you are successful, instead of waiting until the goblet is empty.” This sentence, being my life credo, highly correspond to humanism. Therefore, I favour this philosophy very much.

Summary of story “Lamb to the Slaughter”

In this post, the origin of the found poem I wrote is the story “Lamb to the Slaughter” by Roald Dahl. In this story, there are many conflicts that are either internal such as the wife (the protagonist) and herself, or external such as the wife and the society. I chose to write about an external conflict between the protagonist and her husband (the antagonist).  In this story, this conflict is the antagonist wants to break up with the protagonist, which made the protagonist killed the antagonist. Because this conflict is between two different characters, I know this conflict is an external conflict. In my poem, I made sentences with words in the story and carried out the conflict in a chronological order. So readers can understand what happened in this part of the story after reading my poem. My design also keeped the same mood with the conflict. Since the conflict is about a murder, I made the words and the drawings I made all in red color, which represented blood. In the center, there is a leg of lamb (which is what the protagonist used to murder the antagonist), and it is dripping blood. It it very easy to understand what is the conflict just looking at the design.
