Am I A HUMANIST by ALICE BAEK [STUDENT]

 

Do you know what humanism is? Humanism is an idea in which humans are at the center regardless of religion or God. According to the key elements of humanism in my infographic, I am 85% humanist. I agree with the basic concept of humanism. Among them, I strongly agree with the social standing of individualism. I believe that everyone, no matter their status, should be treated equally, prizing individual achievement more than classes or families. Also, I agree with the idea about studying humanities. Humanity is a subject where we learn about human life and culture, which is basically about humanism. However, the reason for excluding 15% is that I don’t understand the way humanists thought that people must use their mind to answer all questions. In my opinion, we should use our mind or thoughts to all questions, but not all. I think I’m just in the middle of the idea with the catholic church and humanists. Overall, I am 85% humanist.
