I created this found poem using the short story “Lamb to the slaughter” by Roald Dahl. I chose the background for my found poem because it shows the scene my found poem is describing and it shows that Patrick Maloney didn’t suspect that his wife was going to murder him. This proves that Patrick is a lamb to the slaughter which means that he did something without knowing something bad was going to happen. My poem describes when Mary Maloney killed her husband with the leg after he tells her he’s leaving her. This is an external character vs character conflict because it is about the protagonist killing her husband then covering it up and lying to the police about it.
