WRONG Photos

(Late post as my blog wasn’t working at that time.)

This image not only includes a bad perspective of the terracotta warrior, but also does not have a clear concept; the photo does not include any interesting elements of communication, making it seem vague in the eyes of the audience. The image is also not well lined up with the face of the terracotta warrior, being asymmetrical, further on making it seem weird by changing the emotional atmosphere the terracotta warrior should bring (courageous, daunting), by instead making it seem funny in a sort of viewpoint.

The biggest issue with this image is how the camera was tilted while it was taken. The image’s content is all tilted, making it harder for the viewer to understand and ruining the image’s previous composition. The photo also does not include a main subject or point of interest, with it being a pointless illustration of an intersection of hallways.

This image includes a bad focus, with what should be the subject not differentiating from the background, and does not include a clear concept, making it unclear what message I want to show. Lastly, the white wall in the background is an unnecessary portion of the image, not adding depth or further contrast to the subject, and lacking composition.

In this image, the lighting is directly captured by the phone lenses, without making good lighting considerations. The photo also lacks good composition, with nothing in the background to add layering, and it does not use the space and lines in the area well. Lastly, the image lacks perspective, and it would make it better if it were taken from a side view of the lamp, showing better depth, making a mood, and having a theme.

The image includes a section of a red wall, which is not lined up with the phone lens to make the photo more symmetrical. The photo also lacks communication of interest, does not show any main topic to the audience, and therefore contains no meaningful information. Finally, there is no obvious central concept in the image, and it is unclear what the main object/item is. Like the previous image, I suggest taking a side view to show the mood and make the concept more straightforward.

This image has a straightforward problem: the fact that my finger is inside the lenses and that it blocks a lot of the subject. This also ruins the composition of the image.  The image itself is also blurred, and it is obvious that it was taken at a point where I was in motion, making the concepts unclear to the viewer and making it a “wrong” photograph.

The biggest problem with this image is its lighting. The photo is supposed to illustrate what a fire extinguisher looks like inside. However, the image’s lighting is too dark, making it unclear to the audience what the subject is inside. Adding to this, the image is unclear, preventing the audience from differentiating the subject from the background and not emphasizing the fire extinguisher. Lastly, the image lacks contrast between colors or mood. Similarly, this does not emphasize the subject and makes the image lack depth and layers, making it vague.

This image includes a plain blue wall, with no other objects inside. This goes against multiple rules of photography. Firstly, the image lacks the basic contrast needed to emphasize the subject, being full of blue and blue only. Secondly, the image’s composition does not have depth or other objects in the background to make the image contain a mood or story. Continuing and adding upon, there is no point of interest inside the image, with the viewer’s attention not drawn to any single point of the piece, making it seem vague and failing to capture the eye. Lastly, lighting considerations can also be improved, as in the case of the image, the light directly above does not add depth and balance to the image.

This image features the white ceiling of the MS/HS cafeteria and lamps, posing its biggest problem: contrast. The image contains plain white and does not show any layering or depth, which also makes the image vague to the viewers. Continuing, the image lacks a point of interest, containing no subject.

This image includes multiple wrong aspects, the first being that it is tilted, showing the image at an angle, making it difficult to align. Secondly, the image lacks a subject, containing only random elements that cannot link together. Lastly, the composition of this photo is weird and does not make sense, with no focus given to any object and no object in the center to emphasize.
