The message I will be trying to convey is the depressing and suppressive environment of the region, and also using buildings and other objects to create a feeling of nostalgia and capture of time’s passing. I would wish my audience to think back at Beijing, its culture, and what the city has experienced and went through in the past decades (considering a lot of change has occurred). For inspiration, I will try to focus on the elements of contrast, lines, texture, to capture a composition which would meet my goals. The 798 regions’ atmosphere shows Beijing’s transformation from a industrial to cultural capital, with it combining these 2 elements and giving out a more depressing feeling through abstract photos.
