Louis Silvie Zamperini, known to the world as Louie Zamperini, was an Olympian runner bounded to be the first miler to run under 4 minutes. Unfortunately, Hitler and the Japanese hindered his dream as they declared war on Europe and America. Pearl Harbor was attacked and Louie was drafted into a bomber crew. From then on, Louie was given incredible (and pretty much insane) tasks to complete, and he’s found several times just out of Death’s reach.
Landed a plane that had taken 594 bullets from Japanese jets? Louie’s done it. Get trapped in the open ocean for 47 days? Yep, Louie’s done it. Captured by the Japanese and angered the most feared POW corporal? Mhm, still Louie over here. Fought against sharks with bare hands? Louie’s been there, done that.
Unbroken is an amazing book that shares the story of this brave fellow whose determination and resilience had gotten him so far in life. You don’t want to miss it.
