Dragon Account Single Sign-on (SSO) when you use other Microsoft accounts

If you have a Microsoft account other than your ISB Dragon Account, when you attempt to login to one of our SSO enabled applications, your browser may try to automatically login with that account. That will result in an error message, as your other account is not authorized to access ISB applications.  To overcome this situation, you could:

  1. Use a different browser.
  2. Clear your browser cache
  3. Use ‘incognito’ mode (Chrome), Private window (Safari), or ‘InPrivate’ mode (Microsoft Edge and Chrome)

A more permanent solution is to use browser profiles.

The quickest profile to use is ‘Browse as guest’.  This will open a new browser window which does not connect to any prior login account session.

You can create a separate profile, by clicking ‘Add Profile’, which will allow you to change between different profiles and accounts easily.  You can see highlighted above; I have a profile for my Dragon Account and my ISB Staff Account.  This allows me to work with multiple accounts with ease.

Unfortunately, Safari does not support browser profiles.

Recent DX access issue?

We have received two reports of people being unable to connect to DX from home, although WeChat is full of conversations on the topic.  Remember if you don’t report to the ICT Office, we are not aware of your issue.

When you cannot access DX, you also cannot access PowerSchool or AnyConnect.

Currently, services provided by Clarke appear to have caused the issue.  If you are using Clarke as your internet provider, you need to contact him for a resolution.

The cause of the issue appears to be Domain Name System (DNS).  DNS is how the internet translates a URL to an Internet Protocol (IP) address.  When you want to go to DX, DNS tells your browser what IP address to go to.  If DNS cannot answer that question, you will not get to DX.

To test if DNS is your issue, enter 18.136.122.241 in your browser.  This is the IP address of DX.  You will get this error:

It is safe to click Continue at the bottom.

If the resultant page says, “Yes, I am alive !!!!!!”, DNS is your issue.

If your confident, you could change the DNS settings on your router.  Try 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 these are OpenDNS server IP addresses.  Be sure to record your current DNS IP addresses in case you need to return to the original addresses.
