Donna Blog Post
- This is my first blog post, but some books I was reading recently are some non-fiction ones for history and the Divergent series. For the fiction ones, I’d recommend it to anyone who can understand Chinese since it explains events in an entertaining way (the book is Chinese). I’d recommend Divergent to people too, since the plot and characters are quite well-written, but I don’t think you can quite analyze it, so not for this task.
- I will begin reading ‘Parachutes’ for this task. I’ve heard the first chapter from it, and it seems quite interesting. The author also came as a guest speaker, so I got to hear a bit about the book. I like how I am immediately brought into the characters’ lives since the start, it makes you curious on what’s going to happen next.
- ‘Predictions’ is quite broad, especially since I don’t know much about the book yet, but my guess is that maybe the parachutes after growing up will become like the author, a teacher who teaches parachutes.
- The characters have thought put into them and each device is chosen for maximum effect instead of just written. I didn’t read it yet, but I feel like a place where a character talks or thinks to themselves a lot might contain a lot of analytical devices.
- What structure will it be in? (as in do we just need the thesis or a whole introduction, the conclusion, structures of paragraphs…) Also, how long will the time limit be?
