Percy’s ADHD impacted his attitude toward school. Percy’s attitude towards school could be improved by changing by having more outdoors activities. From the book, Percy likes Mr. Brunner’s class because he “let us play games in class. He also had this awesome collection of Roman armor and weapons, so he is the only teacher whose class didn’t put me to sleep”(page 2). Researcher suggests that people with ADHD work will in “stimulating environment” and likes to “move their bodies(Gibson 2018). Percy’s attitude also could be improved by studying something that he is interested in, From the book, Percy said “he was the only teacher whose class didn’t put me into sleep” Percy like to studying Greek history and he is very interested in Greek history. From the article, they might be very focused when something interests them. To conclude, studying something that Percy is interested could improve his attitude towards school.
When Percy manage his emotions, he will make better choices. Firstly, Percy’s Choices could be improved by think before do, and think what will happen after you do something. From the book “will you shut up” it came louder I meant(page5 from the book), From this quote, you can see Percy didn’t think what will happen after he says “will you shut up”. The researcher says “stopping before you decide, to give yourself a chance to think”(Skills you need page 19). Secondly, Percy’s choices also could be improved by “take some time out before making a decision”(Skills you need page 20), from the book, “I snapped, I called him an old sot”(page 3), the researcher said “ the best decisions are made using both logic and emotion(Skills you need page 19). Therefore, including taking some time out before making a decision could help Percy improve his choices.
To conclude, stopping before you decide and studying something Percy is interested could make Percy’s choices better.
