PE mental health assesment

Option 1

  1. When my mental health is in a green zone, I feel very calm, and relaxed. The reason why I feel this way is because when my mental health is in the green zone, it should mean my mental health is balanced and stable, I’m not using too much electronics but I’m not doing too much homework which is very balanced. I act very happy and excited when my mental health is in the green zone because when I am in the green zone, I can feel free.
  2. The tech habits that help me stay in the green zone is having electronic breaks. Electronic breaks are having a period of rest time after you look at electronics for example when I am done watching YouTube for 45 minutes, I take a 20-minute break before I watch YouTube again. Using technology can make me happy and happiness can have a positive effect on my well-being. My mom also reminds me to take a break so I can rest my eyes.
  3. Things that can make me leave my green zone is when I feel too stressed about school and when I am worried, I don’t complete my tasks. Sleep also is a very big part of leaving my green zone because I sometimes get really mad and grumpy when I don’t have enough sleep for the day. E-learning sometimes makes me leave my green zone because sometimes I have lots of tasks to complete, I worry if I can’t finish the task.
  4. When I am at the orange/yellow zone, I feel very unsettled and a bit worried because of the current events that are going on. I also can act kind of grumpy and mad because I am worried and stressed about what is going on in my life.
  5. Strategies that help me stay in the green zones are 1. When you feel like you are in the yellow/orange zone just lie down in your bed and just relax and think about your life until you are feeling better. 2. Try some breathing exercises, they can help you relax a lot, they can help you feel more secure and well.

1.= this is just the beginning of what I am working on

Blog post 5

Looking back at this project, I learned how to make tuna nachos which is very tasty. One of my biggest fails was forgetting to add cucumbers on my nachos on 1 of my attempts, I feel like that was an aha moment because right after eating the nachos, I noticed I didn’t add cucumbers. One thing I am proud of is making the nachos taste very good because when I first started making nachos, I thought they were gonna taste bad but in the end, it tasted really good.

Blog post 4

Today, I made nacho chips and added them with nacho toppings. The effect of it turned out really great I let my parents try it out and they said it was very good. 3 goals I had for today were trying to combine the nacho chips with nacho toppings, trying to add cucumber in the nachos and trying to make the nacho chips more crunchy and hard. The aha’s I had today was when I made the nacho chips, I buttered 1 side instead of both sides and after cooking the nacho chips I realized I did not butter both sides. Another aha moment I had was when I made the nacho toppings I thought put enough tomatoes pieces but after making the nacho toppings I realized that I had made a mistake. 1 goal for tomorrow is that I can add avocado into my nachos because my dad says our avocados are gonna mold if we don’t use them.

Create

Nacho chips (Homemade) with 2 cheese sauce, (white=mozzerela, orange=chedder)

My 3 goals were trying to make the nacho chips, cheddar cheese sauce, and mozzarella cheese sauce. Turns out, the cheddar cheese sauce tasted better than the mozzarella cheese sauce so I will be using cheddar cheese sauce for my nachos. For the nacho chips they tasted very good so I have decided I will replace Doritos with nacho chips. My 2 challenges today were the recipe for the nachos said I have to bake the nachos for 10 minutes for 135c but in reality, I had to bake it for 20 minutes and 135c. Another challenge was my oven was too small, so I had to bake it in 2 shifts. My goal for tomorrow is to use the homemade nacho chips and make nachos.

Develop and plan

Tuna nachos:

For ignite week, my project would be trying to make nachos and comparing if vegan nachos, tuna nachos or beef nachos taste the best. Today, I made the tuna nachos and they tasted very good. The challenges of making nachos include having the cheese sauce because they don’t sell chase sauce in china.  Another challenge would be having the nacho chips because my mom accidentally bought Doritos instead of nacho chips. The third challenge is going to be getting a fancy plate to decorate my nachos because I personally think presentation matters a lot. My hopes for ignite week is I make very delicious nachos so I and my family can eat them. One more hope I have is when I make the nachos, I hope that I don’t make too much so I don’t end up wasting. How I plan to level up is I am going to make my own cheese sauce and tortilla chips. In order to make the cheese sauce, I am going to melt the cheese to have the sauce. For the tortilla chips, I plan to buy corn tortillas and cut them into triangles and fry them.

Define and Inquire

The project I will be working on in ignite week is making nachos. Personally, I really like nachos so that is why I chose it for my project. I have collected 3 sources to help me make nachos and the 3 sources have different recipes because there are 3 types of nachos, tuna nachos, beef nachos, and vegan nachos. The recipe that I want to cook the most is the tuna recipe because I like tuna and the recipe seems to look very delicious. The materials I might not obtain is the cheese whiz because, in China, they don’t sell them.

Driving question

As Project Collision shifted due to the Covid-19 virus from a collaborative school project to an individual home project, a big challenge that I faced was finding a drop zone that had a good camera film position. To overcome this challenge, I created my drop zone using a ladder and put my camera next to my kitchen because the kitchen has a wide view of my drop zone. Before this project, I used to think that the weight of the rope doesn’t matter but now, I think that the weight of the rope is very crucial for a successful landing. For example, when I tested with ribbons, shoelaces and sewing strings, I noticed that the sewing strings had terrible accuracy and horrible wind resistance, but the shoelace rope had quite the opposite of what the sewing rope had. The shoelace scored the best out of the 3 ropes I had tested with. Looking back on project collision, I learned that having reliable data can help support your claim. One area where my data supported my thinking was in blog post 5 is in blog post 5, I stated that ropes that are heavier tend to do have better wind resistance and accuracy than the lighter ropes and my evidence for the claim I made was when I tested with shoelaces and sewing rope the shoelaces had better wind resistance and accuracy because of its weight. In summary, project collision taught me to support my ideas with evidence.
