In the story, The Alchemist the protagonist Santiago is living he’s life a shepherd, he moved around parts of the country and in Part 1 he stays in an abandoned Church where he has a small identity crisis, questioning whether if it was him who has gotten accustomed to the sheep’s schedule or was it the sheep who got accustomed to he’s. He has a crush on a salesmen’s daughter, and he gets excited to meet her again today. After he has met her he comes across an old lady who is a fortune teller, and old man who both insist that he should go to Egypt to claim a treasure, although he hesitates a bit he still goes to Egypt. I have only read up to this part, from these part I’ve realized that the author’s usage of language is very wisely chosen like, “he sought out a new road to travel.”
