In the book Percy Jackson can’t manage his emotions very well so, the first paragraph is about how could Percy make better choices by managing his emotions. Also, In the book Percy have a few people with positive relationship so, second paragraph is about how could Percy’s positive relationship with a few people affect his life. 

 Percy could make better choices if Percy manage his emotions. First, in the book (page 9) Percy said that “I tried to stay cool, the school counselor had told me a million times.” it means that he can’t manage his emotions very well. But according to the article about managing emotions (page 19) said that “The best decisions are made using both logic and emotions.” it means that if Percy make decisions using both logic and emotions, he can make the best choices. Second, in the book (page 17) Percy said that “I got into more fights with Nancy Bobofit and her friends.” it means that Percy usually fight with Nancy Bobofit and her friends. But according to the article about managing emotions (page 20) said that “Consider what might happen as a result, and how your decision might affect others.” it means that if Percy consider what will happen as a result probably, they won’t fight again. Third, in the book (page 5) Percy said that “‘Will you shut up!?!?!?!’–it came out louder that I meant.” it shows that Percy can’t manage himself. But according to the article about managing emotions (page 20) said that “Take some time out before making decision.” it means that if Percy take some time out before making decisions, he won’t be a troublemaker.  

Percy’s positive relationships with a few people affect his life. First, in the book (page 29) Percy said that “Her name is Sally Jackson, and she’s the best person in the world.” it means that he has a positive relationship with his mom which is Sally Jackson. According to the article about positive relationships (page 27) said that “People with strong social relationships are 50% less likely to die prematurely.” it means that he has positive relationship with his mom so, he could live longer. Second, in the book (page 34) Percy said that “I started choking up, thinking about Grover and Mr. Bruner.” it means that he has positive relationship with Grover and Mr. Brunner. According to the article about positive relationships (page 28) said that “having strong relationships were half as likely to catch a common cold when exposed to the virus.” it means that he has positive relationship with Grover and Mr. Brunner so, he can stay healthy. Third, in the book (page 44) Grover said that “I am your friend.” it means that Grover is the best friend of Percy. According to the article about positive relationships (page 28) said that “loneliness is a significant predictor of poor health” it means that Percy have a good friend which is Grover so, Percy won’t be lonely.  

Therefore, if Percy manage his emotions, he will make better choices and Percy’s life could be better because he has positive relationship with few people.
