Fatal Fever: Tracking Down Typhoid Mary written by Gail Jarrow is a 5-star book you should read!

This non-fiction tells us about a terrible epidemic in the 19th century, typhoid. During that time, medical technology is still underdeveloped, so doctors think it does not differ from a normal fever. People already got infected before they prevent it. Also, people were not cautious about their personal hygiene, rivers were polluted with sewage flowing in it. The theme of this book is the government should pay special attention to diseases and support patients. In the book, the author mentioned a lot of awful consequences that the negligence of the government had brought. They let private water companies that were bad at managing the water supplies to take care of the river. Most importantly, they did not want to pay the massive fee to clean the city.

I really recommend this book to you because it is really similar to the situation we were fighting against. This is also an interesting book. Reading this book never makes me bored.
