The French Revolution in Plain English!

The French Revolution was a very cruel time of history. Because of the revolution, many people died and the citizens were in a very bad condition. In this video, we will talk about and explain five big events that happened during the French Revolution. The first event: The Tennis Court Oath. The second event: The Estate General. The third event: The Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizens. The fourth event: the Reign of Terror. And the last event: The Rise of Napoleon. We will also be explaining whether or not we think it’s right to use violence to achieve one political goal? We have included many information in this video and our opinions.

“Lamb to the Slaughter” Found Poem

The poem I have created is based on the story “Lamb to the Slaughter” written by Roald Dahl in 1953. This poem I have created is an External Conflict which is Mary Maloney fighting against her husband. Here, Mary’s antagonist is her husband.  Here is the evidence why Mary is going against her husband and causing the conflict. In the story, it talked about when Mary’s husband went home, he looked like he was very tired and really didn’t want to talk. And finally, when Mary asks what was going on, her husband said he wanted to divorce Mary. But he will of course give Mary money in the future. So, on this side, in paragraph 35, Mary’s husband doesn’t want to live with Mary anymore. On the other hand, in paragraph 7, Mary is always very happy to wait for her husband even though it very late because Mary loves to spend time with her husband. Also, she always cooks very special dinner for her husband every time and loved him very much. In my poem, to express how Mary felt when hearing the news that her husband doesn’t want to live with her anymore, I have carefully chosen the words in the story (adding to my poem) to express the characters feelings. For example, (paragraph 38) in my poem one part of it was “she walked across the room…. couldn’t feel her feet touching the floor.” I think this is a very good part of the poem because it is specifically explaining how stunned Mary was when she heard of this news and how sad also angry, she was. Also, one part of the poem specifically explaining the conflict is (paragraph 46) “So I’ve killed him” this part is the very climax of the story explaining how much Mary disagrees with her husband and fighting against him. I have also used picture to describe the specific scene of the climax part of the story. And at the end of my poem, I have added an open ending when Mary was trying to smile. I have added this to let the reader get interested and guess the ending.
