Final Product Self Reflection
Strength:
- all watermills are spinning
- prevent marbles from falling off
- newton’s cradle mills are working(when one marble hit one side, the marble of other side moves)
- both marbles safely reach the goal and are kept in the container
- flat(relatively small size, easy to be kept)
- portable
- reused materials
- recyclable
- no sharp edges(safety)
Need Improvement:
- sometimes the marbles get stuck due to glue gun
- made of cardboard – weak(lack of durability)
- where the second marble and tip of newton’s cradle is not stable(the marble just randomly fell off by itself sometimes even before the cradle reaches the marble)
Feedbacks
Feedback for planner:
- way too complicated(not enough time to build)
- the possibility that the watermill would block the movement of the marble (make sure that the way the watermill functions is described in detail) which is later fixed through a green pen
- marble might fall off (fixed when I make the actual product)
Feedback for the final product
- marbles easily get off of the rail as it speeds up (fixed in picture 3 – made wall)
- watermills get off from the holder (fixed in picture 2 – add the cover of the watermill)
- the rollercoaster cannot stand by itself (even with help of a wall) – fixed by folding the bottom part of the rollercoaster and using it as a floor of the rollercoaster and a container of marble (shown in the last picture)
- indicate/label where to but the right marble of newton’s cradle and the second marble(communication with the audience, not fixed due to lack of time)
- because the place where the second marble and right marble of newton’s cradle are not stable, they easily fall off by themselves before the first marble/left marble of newton’s cradle hits them due to the impact of the first marble rolling down the rail (not fixed – lack of time)
- the rail right next to the first watermill blocks the movement of newton’s cradle (fixed in last picture)
