This found poem is made from the book called “Thank You, M’am”. In the story, the boy named Roger tries to steal a big woman’s purse to get his suede shoes even though he knows that what he’s doing is wrong. But he fails and instead of getting a purse, he makes the woman mad. However, she didn’t take him to police but takes him to her home. Unlike Roger having a conflict with himself whether to believe her or run away, she takes care of him with her kindness and sympathy as if she’s taking care of her real son. As a result, Roger reflects himself deeply and decide to never do this kind of bad things again. This is from the 27^th sentence to 45^th sentence, where the woman is still trying to give him some food and Roger still wondering whether to go out or trust her. I wanted to show the internal conflict Roger is having with himself either to go out or not. The picture is for showing Roger having a deep thinking.
