Should Roger run away or trust the woman?

This found poem is made from the book called “Thank You, M’am”. In the story, the boy named Roger tries to steal a big woman’s purse to get his suede shoes even though he knows that what he’s doing is wrong. But he fails and instead of getting a purse, he makes the woman mad. However, she didn’t take him to police but takes him to her home. Unlike Roger having a conflict with himself whether to believe her or run away, she takes care of him with her kindness and sympathy as if she’s taking care of her real son. As a result, Roger reflects himself deeply and decide to never do this kind of bad things again. This is from the 27th sentence to 45th sentence, where the woman is still trying to give him some food and Roger still wondering whether to go out or trust her. I wanted to show the internal conflict Roger is having with himself either to go out or not. The picture is for showing Roger having a deep thinking.
