During the last unit of the year, also known as the capstone project, we worked on our informational essays throughout the month. My main topic was about plastic pollution and how it is affecting our world. Click here to read my essay.
Lianna, a brave and strong 15-year-old girl experiences a total of 29 chaotic years of revolution. Taking life risking adventures, and coming across multiple events, find out how she has changed over the years and what happened in her point of view of the American Revolution here.
During the past week, Christina and I made a common craft video in humanities about the American Revolution in plain English. The American Revolution played a huge part in the American history. It was the big war of independence for the Americans against the British which started in 1620 and ended in 1783, accompanied with important laws, incidents, brutal battles, and ending with the continuity and changes. The book Quiet Power by Susan Cain is a book all about introverts. In this book the author tells many interesting things about introverts that you might not usually notice. It explains why introverts act in certain ways and how to overcome being so shy and quiet if you also tend to deal with those problems. Throughout the book, the author uses real-life experiences from many different people and explains many situations introverts might be struggling with, and how to handle them. Here, you can also listen to Susan Cain’s TED talk about introverts.
First and most important central idea: Although introverts may be shy and quiet, they also have many unique but hidden superpowers. Throughout the book, the biggest idea is about proving how introverts are also very unique and powerful. The author uses many examples and datas to support this big idea and this particular central idea shows up many times.
As I read the book, I realized another central idea is that two or three close friends mean more than a hundred acquaintances. The author kept mentioning some situations between friendships and mainly how close friends were much more important than being popular and/or having a bunch of acquaintances, so that is another important idea to have in mind.
After reading this book my thoughts changed towards introverts since I used to think that introverts were just quiet and not concentrated, but this book explained and proved that they are actually listening and focused, so I recommend this book because after reading it, you would understand introverts more and have a smaller chance of misunderstanding them or looking down on them.
Thanks for getting to the bottom of my blog post, have a great day!
The trip was fun and a good experience because we learned a lot of new things and knew each other more. There were many activities during the two days and they were all enjoyable. The bamboo activities were fun and I also learned how to use a campus in the navigation training activity. The pasta made by our group tasted really good. Downtime was fun with my tent mates and it was fun although there wasn’t much to do in the tent. In the morning it was extremely cold. The breakfast and lunch were filling. The scavenger hunt on the second day was fun and my team got second place which was nice. The bathrooms were also okay but very stinky and I would choose not to go to them if I don’t need to.
