Clean Energy>Climate Change

I am proud of the video editing. Learned how to use iMovie, and I am also proud of the new sources I’ve applied in to my video about clean energy.

Fire and Freedom

I was born in a wealthy landowners family in the Mexico City. This gave me power, authority, and peasants who worked for me. I loved our great leader Porfirio Diaz, who gave us the landowners power. The, I was reborn in the revolutionary group. We were all fighting for freedom. This was to overthrow the dictators during the revolution. My journal is located below the blog. Go look at the revolution

Many things changed because of the Mexican Revolution. For instance, one of the major change was the land reform. It was one of the most significant changes brought about by the Mexican Revolution was land reform. Before the Mexican revolution, lands were owned by small landowners, so the peasants didn’t get land. The land reforms made equity for people. Another change that happened was the economic reform. From 1910-1920, the labor force declined sharply, with the economically active share of the population falling from 35 percent in 1910 to 31 percent in 1930.

There were lots of changes because of the Mexican Revolution; however, many things still stayed the same.  One of the thing that stayed the same was the violence and crime. There were still rug trafficking, organized crime, and political violence continue to plague the country. While the revolution brought about significant changes in many areas, some cultural traditions have remained relatively unchanged.

The Fire of Freedom: The Mexican Revolution and the New Birth of a New Nation

The bloody killing and chaos might be the only images that come into your mind, but the revolution was not only killing. The revolution majorly happened in 1910-1920. It was characterized by a variety of social and economic demands. Starting with the dictatorship of Diaz, to the end of Obregon running president. The Mexican Revolution also had a profound impact on the country’s political, social, and cultural development, and it continues to shape Mexican identity and politics to this day. Now it’s your turn to watch. Watch the video and learn more about the revolution.

Hardships Lead to Success

In the non-fiction book Google It written by Anna Crowley Redding, the author describes how Larry Page and Sergey Brin dropped out of school for their dream revolutionizing the web. In the setting, the book gives us information about the year 1995 and the place Stanford University. Furthermore, the two protagonists, Larry and Sergey, were two college students at Stanford University with an interesting idea. Now in 2023, they run the most innovative and influential companies in the world. Also, in the book Google It there were not only Larry and Sergey making this company there were crucial minor characters that gave advise and assisted Larry and Sergey to success. For instance, Eric Schmidt was the CEO for Google, he helped manage work, and played the role of CEO in other successful companies, which led google to make 400 million profits in 2002. Additionally, Craig Silverstein was the first employee in Google. Craig gave hope for Sergey and Larry to continue the dream because Google was not making any profit. Moreover, the book has an obvious central idea, notably that it “Risk your future to pursue your dreams”.  How did Larry and Sergey successfully complete their dreams? How did they turn a school project into a worlds most popular and successful company that people often use everyday? Read the book to find out!

The page below was a note first taken in day 5, the central idea that I’ve noticed was people should risk their future to pursue their dreams.  Larry and Sergey had took risks like dropping out of University, which they were in Stanford University. Dropping out of a popular University to pursue their dream was not really true, but reality was Larry and Sergey has completed their dream.

As you can see, in day 7, I have read that Google was first not making money, they were spending a lot of money in making logos, computers, and mending tech issues that they were facing.

In day 8, I had read more in the book, and changed the central idea into hardships lead to success and revolutionizing the web. In the book, the author has mentioned a lot of problems like Larry and Sergey’s parents didn’t allow them to dropping out of school. The author has mentioned a lot of barriers that might stop Larry and Sergey completing their dream.

The page below shows the quotes i have used for supporting the central idea hardships lead to success and revolutionizing the web. I used bullet point form to take notes, and you could take a look below to see some notes I have taken throughout the whole book to address these central ideas.

Based on this Infographic above, I am 88% humanist. This is because I think that humanist believed in “Work hard to achieve what you want”, “Inspired by ancient buildings”, and “Education” which I am 100% sure with it. I am 60% sure with Humanist believed “Use mind to question everything”, and 80% sure with “Philosophy“.

“Ain’t you got nobody home to tell you to wash your face?”

The found poem was taken from “Thank You, M’amby Langston Hughes. It shows the man versus man conflict between Roger, the protagonist, and the Ma’m (Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones). In my poem it represents the exposition of the story, where the external conflict happens in the story with Roger attempting to snatch Mrs. Luella’s purse. The purse strap broke and Roger lost his balance. Then he was caught by Mrs. Luella, but she didn’t decide to call the cops, she took roger back home. The rest of the story that my poem didn’t show goes on with another internal conflict. Mrs. Luella asked why did Roger attempt to steal her purse, Roger murmured that he wanted a blue shoes, he needs money for it. Mrs. Luella replied: “Well, you didn’t have to snatch my pocketbook to get some suede shoes,” After Mrs. Luella took Roger back home, he started to struggle with himself to run out the door or to stay. He chooses to stay because he felt ashamed of stealing the purse from Mrs. Luella, and Mrs. Luella didn’t call the cops. It was also an important lesson to Roger that stealing things was a real big mistake. The story ends with Roger leaving Mrs. Luella’s house. “The boy wanted to say something other than, “Thank you, m’am,” to Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones, but although his lips moved, he couldn’t even say that as he turned at the foot of the barren stoop and looked up at the large woman in the door. He barely managed to say “Thank you” before she shut the door. And he never saw her again.” From the story, it displayed that Roger felt really profound of the lesson Mrs. Luella taught, then he never saw Mrs. Luella.

Product Design Summative Evidence

1.What did you struggle with most in this design?

I think what I struggled with is the part where everything gets put in the correct spot where it fits, because my speaker box is very small where putting the guts in made it very complicated. Structuring the two sides to let the charger hole and the volume hole to fit is hard, I needed to choose the sides to enable the chip to let the charging and volume hole get out, which I put the volume hole on the right side and the charging hole on the backside of it.

2.If you could start over from the beginning , what specifically would you change about your project?

I could change the size oof the box and more decoration, because only putting on the color and adding four sticks which makes it mid century modern wouldn’t mean anything, and the size made it too hard to put in the guts, so I could change these points to enable to let the my box more specific.

3.Whats the first song to listening to on the speaker and why?

I would listen ticking, this is why, ticking is a DJ song which testing how the speakers sound is efficient or not, and the song is very good.

4.What aspect of this project are you most proud of?

I was most proud of the facade, the facade was a very god decoration to put on the speaker, which on the highways theres a lot of this green stuff, and when the car goes very fast it’s like the green stuff running, so the facade makes me feel of the highway stuff, and it took me abundant of time to make.

Design Summative-Reflect and Share Tim Bai

My biggest success was that I’ve made my function of my project, and also the structure that I was expecting.  Because of my project that was pretty easy to make,I’ve completed it very rapid (my structure was only a little container)。

One of the most complicated part of making my project was finding cardboard part very hard. This part made me feel like i wanted to give up my project, the containers needs tp be stable, so I was using cup- board on the outside, nd I decided to use plastic on the inside ( for water-proof, like hot glue gluing was complicated).

The part when I was most proud of was that I almost completed my function. Because in my project it seems like it was pretty hard to make the structure, but I’ve almost made the function.

CARDBOARD ARCADE GAME

This is my cardboard arcade game, the basketball thing, so the difficult part was making the ball go in but you can go to any angles. The structure of it is very simple. I think something that I need to improve is making the ball to go in easier and make it more fun so everyone could play my game.

Cup isolator design

1.What are you proud of?

Am proud of that we used time wisely and our work did kept the water warm.

2.What would you do differently?

Maybe we should apply a top lid so it could keep the warm energy in the cup.

3.What was the hardest thing about the project?

Its like me and Seojun didn’t know what materials to keep it warm, its hard to decide.

4.What are some limitations your group experienced in this design challenge?

We didn’t have time to make the last layer of the shirt.
