Cuban Revolution Journal Entry

Jimmy Carter, a middle class cuban citizen who thwart against Batista’s corrupted reign. People nowadays remember and venerate him as a man who fight against enemies with complete sangfroid. His autobiography introduces and depicts the true side of cuban revolution.

During 1953 to 1959, there was a military and political attempt to destroy the Cuban government. It started following the unsuccessful mass strike in protest to the 1952 Cuban coup that installed Fulgencio Batista as the nation’s leader. After Fidel Castro’s success in 1959, the Communist Party was fully established in Cuba, and the country’s society experienced dramatic evolution. This triumph had immediate positive effects on healthcare, education, and access to clean water and good homes.

Lamb to the Slaughter

The story I chose for my found poem is Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald_Dahl, and I chose the first page of the story to make my found poem. The conflict of this part from the story is Mary Maloney V.S herself, her mind is fighting against herself, she can’t accept that her husband is leaving her so she decided that she’s going to kill her husband. Firstly, I highlighted “the two tall glasses”, I feels like this shows how fragile their relationship is. As each minute passes Mary Maloney is one step closer to killing her husband. The suspense and connection in the poem stands out to me the most throughout the first page not only from body movement or even her tone of voice, shows the intense atmosphere surrounding her thoughts.
