The book 57 Bus by Dashka Slater tells a story about the fire accident on the bus, the main character Sasha is an agender that  she  don’t  think  she  is  rather  an  male  or  female.  Sasha live in an open mind city that has a lot of lesbian couples, trans and gays inside, Sasha has a circle of friends, one of her friend call Richard who is also confuse with his gender. Richard likes to joke around and being silly, at an normal day Richard and his friends goof around and burned Sasha’s dress, he want to stop the fire but it is too late…

This is my first page of note, I use bullet points and quotes in the book to describe the characters I met in the beginning of the book. I also analyzed a central idea according to the part I read, I made a small “mindset” graph to grow out different thoughts for my central idea, I use quotes and arrows to connect to different thoughts and made my last thought in this part of the note.

I wrote to page of note on day two, which is page two and page three. A lot of characters appeared on this part of the book, so I use quotes to wrote description about the characters in the first part of the book, I do add on to the some of the characters that  I already met like Sasha. On the second page I focus on writing about the theme and central idea. I give out more explanation according to the part of the book I read, I also got ideas on the class to find the theme of the book, I talk with my book club members to find and dig more about how the theme fits with our book.

On this page of my notes, I talk about the second central idea and new characters I found in the book. I look through different conversation that the characters talk and look on the quotes I used, I found that the characters are always very unite. They are not biased against on each other’s gender even though some of them are trans, they tell secrets to each other and talk about the same. topic. On the second part of the note I wrote about the new character I met Luke and add on to Sasha, I use quotes to describe on Luke and add on Sasha.

This page of note is from my summative assessment, I find quotes in the book to prove my central idea, which is the big word on the top “Gender”. I wrote explanation next to the quote and use arrows or lines to represent the connections between each other. I add on more colors on the note and made it look more organize, because the paper is more smaller, I wrote more explanation instead of writing an reason on the bottom of the page.

This is an “composite page,”  (which means is two half page put into one whole page) On the first half page, I chose one descriptive passage in the book and underline words to explain this passage. I talk with my members I dig more further to explain the passage that I chose. On the second half page, I drew an small mindset graph to show the cause and effect of the book, I use arrows to show the cause and effect of  each section and use different color to mark different section.
