Roberto’s Journal- Cuban Revolution

One change about the revolution results in the limited access to information. The Cuban government maintained strict control of the medias and informations that will be seen by citizens in the country. Even though under Batista’s control there were not really freedom, Castro went more strict on this part.

A major continuity can be seen in the one-party government. During Batista’s period, there weren’t any opposing voices allowed. After Castro came to control, the government were controlled by Castro’s government party only. Opposing voices were not allowed, still.

The poor economy is also a major continuity. Even though Castro tried to make changes on the economy of the country, it did not work out. After the embargo done by the US, Cuba’s economy started to collapse, and it never had a chance to get up again.

Overall, the Revolution is worth it. Despite the continuities and changes that I have listed, the revolution also benefited the country. Firstly, the country is united. In a country that is not tight, a force must be implied in order to unite the country. Also, the country’s medical care and education rate rose a lot compared to time with Batista. There indeed are bad things done by the revolution, but the revolution has done more benefit. In conclusion, the Cuban revolution is worth it.

The Cuban Revolution: Homeland or Death

Hello, I’m Kevin. This video is about the Cuban Revolution from 1952 to 1962-63. Before year 1952, Cuba is extremely dependent on the sugar price of US. The majority of land is controlled by the rich of Cuba and US. A man named Fulgencio Batista seized power. Everyone was hoping change, but nothing happened. Under this condition, young Fidel Castro started to think about having a revolution. In this video, we summarized the revolution in a few key events. You will learn about all the tears and joy of the revolution. At last, Castro and the M-26-7 realized that the revolution was worth it despite the pain they had suffer. It had overall benefited Cuba as a whole.

All Thirteen

The book All 13 by Christina Soontornvat is about a rescue mission rescuing the Wild Boar soccer team. The rescue happened in the mountain called Tham Luang. The book attracted me with a brief but detailed summary about the rescue. When I read it, the collaboration of the rescue team and the calmness of the young players really amazed me. Even the book sounds like fiction, there are a lot of background information about the culture of Vietnam.

In this unit, we learned about multiple strategy to identify and summarize the central idea. Further more, we will identify the theme of the book. Below are some of the graphic organizers and notes that I’ve took. All of the notes have interrelationships. Please Enjoy.

This is the Synthesis page of my notebook. I really think that you should check out this page first. This page is the central Idea and the evidence of the book. All the other pages are build-ups of this page. It also is in the format that I’m most familiar way.

My central idea of the book is about being calm. In the book, there are multiple parts that talked about the central idea. In here, I used three quotes to sum up the central idea. All of the quotes showed how different roles in the book showed the importance of staying calm.

This notebook page showed my other discoveries when I reread a crucial part of the story. I used a simple graphic organizers to clearly show my discoveries. Before I reread this part, I thought the rescue mission is only about collaboration and calmness. After I slowly read this part again, I found out that it isn’t easy to even host a rescue mission. If the mission failed, the organizers, or the governor, will face huge pressure. This also added on to my central idea. When facing pressure, the governor made the right decision.

This notebook page showed how I connected some of the details in the book to some of the big ideas in the book. For example, the central idea, in a lot of ways, connects to buddhism. The key concept of buddhism is about do what you can do. Also, the theme, always have hope, connects to buddhism’s key concept of believe.

This notebook page identified some of the settings of the event. This will help you understand the theme, central idea, and the key concepts of the book. For example, the governors made a dangerous rescue plan. If you don’t know about this page, you might think that they are too anxious. But if you know the percentage of oxygen in the cave at the moment, you will understand the reason.

Overall, the book is pretty good. The details really amazed me. Even though it’s a non-fiction, the author managed to tell the story in a narrative way that didn’t make me feel bored. Thank you for spending time on this blog. Beg for mastering.

Lamb To The Slaughter

The found poem I wrote shows the conflict and climax of “Lamb to the Slaughter” by Author Roald Dahl. The conflict is an external conflict, person versus person. The paragraph expressed the feeling of angerness for Mary. Mary is both a protagonist and an antagonist. She both did things that he shouldn’t do, and she is hurted The decision, or the word choice of her husband hurt and angered her as she’s with child. she doesn’t believe that her husband would say such thing. With the angerness, she diddark something irrational. In the found poem, I showed the determination and anger of Mary at the betrayal and abandon of her husband. From the quote: “she couldn’t feel anything”, we can see when the thing happens, she didn’t have any sense of what she’s doing. When a person is unconscious of what they are doing, they should be really affected by the news. At last, the bold words of my found poem gave the reader a dark and gloomy feeling. I believe in the story, Mary is thinking the same way as me too. When she slain her husband, she don’t really know, or care about the consiquence, but she do know what she had done. The font went gradually from gloomy colors into thick dark font. This shows the emotion that Mary has gone through. From despair to rage.
