"I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious" - Albert Einstein

Until next time, Jeremiah.

Hello, My name is Jeremiah, I’m writing to you from the Mexican Revolution. I love fancy mint Candies in tin boxes, Whiskey with Cinnamon & rosemary with a lemon slice placed at 4o’clock on the wall of the glass. Please enjoy my Journal!

During my revolution there were several things that changed, yet there were a few things that stayed the same. A change that happened in the Mexican revolution was that power went out of order, battles came up one after another, the streets was field up with the sounds of gun shots. One example of the change is that Pancho Villa pulled a battle with Obregon, the battle of Celaya that happened in 1915. With all the forces happening to Mexico, it’ll never go back to the old days, Mexico shall never remain peace again.

BORN A CRIME by Trevor Noah A New York time bestseller

Born a crime by Trevor Noah.

The Central Idea of the book ” Born a crime” by Trevor Noah is the exploration of Noah’s experiences growing up as a mixed race child in apartheid South Africa, highlighting the challenges, complexities and resilience in navigating a society built on racial segregation and discrimination. Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood is an autobiographical comedy book written by South African comedian Trevor Noah, published in 2016. The book focuses on Noah’s childhood growing up in South Africa after he was born of an illegal interracial relationship during the apartheid era. The book was a bestseller and has received overwhelmingly positive reviews.

I really enjoyed reading this book and as you scroll through my notes below, please notice the various central  ideas and themes. 🥰

The first central idea I came across in my book was:  Resilience in navigating a society built on racial segregation and discrimination.  See my ideas here…

These examples from the book highlight the overarching theme of Trevor Noah’s experiences as a mixed-race child and his exploration of the impact of apartheid on his life, as well as the broader social implications of racial discrimination and segregation.

As I read further, and made more notes, I found places in the book I could make connections with, Such as The relationship between Noah and his mother…

Dreaming of You

I selected W. D. Wetherell“The Bass the River and Sheila Mant” for my found poem. This story revolves around the conflict faced by a 14-year-old boy, the protagonist, who develops feelings for an older girl named Sheila Mant. However, their first date is disrupted by a large fish, leading the boy to make a difficult decision. The narrative explores the awkward conflicts that arise during adolescence. In my poem, I incorporated the essence of the first three paragraphs, capturing the dynamics between the protagonist and Sheila Mant, as well as the boy’s emotions towards her. The choice of the background image was influenced by the girl depicted in a white dress, which resonated with the line “Her white dress perfectly matched her hair.” Additionally, since the girl in the picture is by the lake, I incorporated the imagery of her lying on the board with her hand in the stream, lost in contemplation and immersed in a dream-like state.
