Continuity and change
One continuity of the Cuban revolution was what sugar crops provided for the economy. Throughout the revolution, sugar crops remained a significant part, as it was its main source of export and income of money. Another continuity was the elections were never taken seriously. Throughout the different dictators the elections were always rigged and unfair to the oppositional parties. Even though there were many continuities throughout the revolution, there were also many changes. One change that occurred during the revolution was the increase in healthcare. By the end of the revolution, Cuba provided free health care services for all Cuban citizens. Additionally, the revolution also increased access to education. The revolution provided free education for women, and people of color which led to the increase of Cuba’s literacy rate.
