American Revolution Journal

Short introduction:

The journal is written from a housewife’s perspective, talking about the impact of the revolution. Initially, she did not want to be involved in the revolution. However, after the Boston Massacre, her son died, which changed her perspective. She began to desire independence for America.

The American Revolution was worth it due to the independence of America. Americans no longer needed to pay high taxes, and the successful revolution marked the end of an era of conflicts and ushered in an era of peace and stability. Birth no longer determines destiny, Mr. President. Political power is in the hands of ordinary men, and inheritance laws now allow daughters and sons to inherit. Land expansion has become possible. All of these listed things have changed.

However, there are still many things that have remained the same, such as women’s rights, the mistreatment of Native Americans, the separation of church and state, the dominance of wealthy landowners and merchants in politics, slavery in the South, and the control of white, rich men. All of these listed things remain the same. But overall, the revolution has been worth it. While the American Revolution involved sacrifices and challenges, its profound impact on the course of history and its ideals cannot be denied.

In this video, we are going to have a short introduction to American history. We are going to summarize the most important events and film them in a craft video. The events including the Stamp Act, taxes on British goods, the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, the Continental Congress, the Revolution of Lexington War, and independence.

Unbroken

SUMMARY OF THE BOOK:

The book Unbroken is mainly about the main character Louie who is a very talented runner, but because of the war, he needs to be a soldier. He encountered a lot of challenges but he overcame it.

DAY2:

In this notebook page, I wrote things about the central ideas, social issues, and theme of the book. Also parts in the book I can’t really connect with (The green sticker is also the central idea).

DAY 3:

In this notebook page, I wrote about the parts in the book that were connected. In Unbroken, the parts were closly connecting together.

DAY5:

In this notebook page, I wrote about the arguments we made during class including reasoning, evidence and claim about why terrible mistakes should not be forgiven.

DAY9:

In this notebook page, I wrote about cause and effects.

Renaissance

The story’s name is “Tuesday of the other June”. The author of the story is Norma Fox Mazer. The conflict started at page2. It’s an external conflict also a character vs character, because it’s about school bully, The conflict is mainly about two girls having the same name which is “June”. June1 met June2 in a swimming class her mom asked her to go, June2 asked June1’s name and thought June1 didn’t have her permission to use the same name with she, so she started to bully June1 by giving her nicknames , and pinching her. After a few weeks, June1’s family needed to move their house to another place, so June1 needed to changed a school, and June2 was her classmate for the new school and kept bullying June1, but at the end June1 finally knew how do defend herself and fight back.

I think my poem can show the conflict is because I picked the keywords from page2 where the conflict started. My background is a girl pushing another girl into the swimming pool, that the first bully after their first conversation.
