Brandon Woelfel is a famous American photographer because of his bright, impressionistic portraits that depend on light. He tends to use fairy lights, glowing neon signs and mirror effects to create a gentle atmosphere. Often, his photos are taken in low light at night, where blue, purple and warm highlights are mixed together. Woelfel improves the colors in his films and makes them seem enchanting and strange. He creates mood and emotion by using glasses, books and lights. A well-known photograph has a girl in glasses standing beside a bright sign and the light reflected from her glasses makes it look like a scene from the future. Still, another art piece portrays someone reading a book with fairy lights around it which gives the piece a cozy feel. Woelfel uses light to lighten his subjects as well as to bring out a story and engage the audience.
