The 57 Bus by Dashka Slater

“The 57 Bus” by Dashka Slater, is  a based on a true story of 2 teenagers who’s whole life changed only because of a flick of a cigarette lighter. The to main character lived in the same city, but growing up in a complete different environment, one growing with warm parents and reliable friends, while the other growing in a single-parent family and losing one of his best friend because of the tangled city. During the story, the different topic  and theme are introduced and interacts together

Town Hall Debate:the central idea of Sasha’s story of defining her own identity has how she felt comfortable.

Marking connections:some example of big issues and topics.

Cause and Effect:some of the circumstance in the story.

Re-reading:A part that is important for the theme/central idea

To sum up, I personally thought that “The 57 Bus” was a great non-fiction book. It really reflects things that might seemed very far to you appears in reallife  just near by. It points out great social issues that appears all over the world, how people can be connected to each other.

Money or Murder

I chose the poem out of “Button, Button“, by Richard Matheson. In this short story , the conflict of person vs self(internal) & person vs person(external) is introduced. In my poem, the first 6 line shows the setting of the story, line 7 & 8 is the conflict between the two main characters and the rest is the ending, when one of the main character accidentally kill the other by pushing the button.  The black and white background image was chosen because of the dedication made in the story that controls someone’s life and the button is just the button in the story.

  • An engaging title – this should not include the name of the subject since this is referenced in the category.
  • Body – this is where you share your learning. This can include text, images, embedded videos from Dragons’ Tube or elsewhere. You should always consider how your post looks to your audience. Is it engaging? Do they want to keep reading?
