The found poem I created is created with parts(paragraphs 1,2,3, and 12) of a story, “Lamb to the slaughter“by Roald Dahl, and it represents the conflicts of the story. In the story, there are three major conflicts, The main character and her husband who was murdered by her(person v person), Her reaction(inner conflict after killing her Husband), and conflict between her against the neighbors and detectives, who can reveal her crime, which is person versus society conflict. The main conflict(Conflict that leads to climax) of this story is the conflict between Mrs. Maloney who wants to hide her crime and society who can reveal her guilt; however, two conflicts in the front have a crucial role in the story as it gives more tension to the story, and it is necessary to develop the plot. Especially, change of Mrs. Maloney’s attitude caused by the conflict is a point that makes this story interesting. She loved her husband at first but she killed her husband impulsively and became psychopathic as the story continues. She also has inner conflict when she tries to hide her crime. Likewise inner Conflict of Mrs. Maloney is revealed in all the parts of the story. The text shows that she became colder and colder. Person versus Person conflict is important in the story as well. Mrs. Maloney’s husband declared to leave Mrs. Maloney, and this caused her overreaction which ended up with the tragic incident. This conflict works as a catalyst in the rising action which develops story further and leads other conflicts naturally. This book will be interesting if you read books with observing Mrs. Maloney’s mental change caused by inner conflict and conflict with her husband. This will make the Main part more interesting, as her emotion affects the plots a lot.
My Found Poem describes Mrs. Maloney’s inner conflict and conflict between her and her husband, and it is written in Mrs. Maloney’s perspective, which means Mrs. Maloney is the protagonist and Her Husband is an Antagonist. My poem shows how External conflict with Mrs. Maloney changed caused internal conflict and changed her perspectives. I wrote this poem in Mrs. Maloney’s perspective so that readers can understand Mrs. Maloney’s perspective change through conflicts which is very important to understand the story deeply. My found poem’s keywords describe it. Mrs Maloney wanted to be with her husband, so she said she felt like vomiting when her husband told her that he is leaving. However, as time goes on and Plot develops(She Killed her husband and tried to hide), she forgets about how guilty she is and begins to be colder.
