In the PD-4 class, we recently did projects with wood, by using 2D Fusion and Lightburn. At first, I had to choose from several options for projects. I wanted to make Mondrian Pattern Lamp, Rubik cube shape Lamp, and a Phone holder for a locker with a cute design. I considered practicality and my need. Considering Practicality, I didn’t need any Lamps. I already had a ramp for my desk and don’t use it frequently. In the second room, I didn’t need it either.  It was not practical to make a lamp because I don’t use it often. On the other hand, the Phone holder for the locker was what I really need. My Locker was often unorganized.  It was sometimes hard to find my stuff there. Therefore, I decided to make a Phone holder that can hold my cell phone and some other stuff such as Pencils for the project.

The first thing I did was to determine the materials I need. I had two options in wood. 3mm and 5mm. I chose 3mm. Because it was I could make it lighter so that It gives less burden to things that stick it inside the locker. Secondly, I picked a hinge in order to make the lid of the holder and make it operate well.  Also, I chose some magnets to fix the lid.

Then, I put it on the fusion. In Fusion, I applied a funny design that looks like a mouth opening. I learned fingers in class and applied it according to the material thickness. And then, I exported it into Lightburn and sent it into Laser Cutter, Printed it. When I assemble, I put Stein first and colored it.

Reflection

-I have to use fusion more fluently. I made some mistakes that caused problems in lightburn. As I put in Multiple Sketches, Many lines were duplicated. Also I wasted so much time due to bad skills.

This is my failed 1st fusion. I couldn’t remove things because of doing it at multiple sketches
