"I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious" - Albert Einstein

Diego Garcia’s journal in Mexican Revolution

Change and Continuity:

The revolution might not be the best way because people faced many cruel events. However, it should be ‘worth it’. Peasants did take back their land, which were most of the revolutionaries always want. Also Obregon led Mexico better by reasonable constitution and giving citizens their right. These are thing changed for better. For the worse part, ten years of fight and getting resources made the country low down its economy, other natural damages and it hurt people’s heart.  There were things stayed the same as well, there were a sodadera solved the Mexican culture during the revolution, she prevent the dance and cloth so that Mexico still have these things.

Those 10 years Chaos in Mexico

In mid 20 century, Mexico had been 10 years of chaos. “I’ll rather die on my feet then leave on my knee.” was said by Emiliano  Zapata, one of the most important revolutionary in the Mexican revolution.  Many of the revolutionaries were showing their courage and spirit during the revolution. In our video, you will learn about most important event during 1910 to 1920 in Mexico and how they connect to each other. Also, there are many interesting character including poor peasants who wants their land, dictators damaging the country and smart revolutionaries. Due to people’s dissatisfaction, the revolutionaries came up again and again, this made the president changed about 5 more times. However, all the change are meaningful and cruel. The ten tragic days, battle of Celaya made many soldier dead on the battle field, but they also change their family’s destiny. Now let’s dive in to this chaos and begin the story.

All stuff started in 1910…

My reading journal of ‘Google It’

The book I’m reading is ‘Google It’ and author is Anna Crowley Redding, as the book’s name it is talking about the history and development of the company Google.

Summary

This book is talking about the two university students – Larry and Sergey find out the issue of web and start making a huge program of searching site, which is Google. The theme of this book is never give up and always study, because the reason why Larry and Sergey success is they are patient and smart. The author is explaining some cold-elemental introduction into an interesting story that easy to understand. This page is  talking about how the problems (causes) lead to the effect and effect becomes to another cause. In the book two main characters were facing a huge problem – poor. This cause many issue when they were progressing Google, such as advertisements and laptops they need for making Google.

Another thing we learn in non-fiction book is connection. There are some big ideas or the problems hide in the back of the book, just like ‘Google it’. The lack of the technique issue lead to many problems, so that Larry and Sergey were keep finding and solve these problems (Google/G-mail/Google translate are the stuff for solve the problems). Theme, central idea and social issue are three most important thing in non-fiction book. In ‘Google It’ the social issue was people’s mind been stuck by education, the theme is never give up, the central idea is the Larry and Sergey -development of Google. The three ideas lead to what is the book talking about and why does the author wrote this book, what is he/she wants to tell you by reading the book. The setting is very important in a story, also a non-fiction. The setting could be the reason or effect the character to do something , also the background (growth) of the character. In ‘Google It’, two main characters Larry and Sergey was so poor that they can only rent a garage of the office. However, because of that they knows they must fight for google, they even get more powerful when thankful when they move to this office.

My Poem

file:///Users/zoey.zhang/Desktop/IMG_3715.jpeg

·This poem is come from story ‘Tuesday of another June’. Page number 2. The story’s author is  Norma Fox Mazer and the story is made in 1986.

·The story is actually about external conflict, but my poem is about internal conflict. The most word we can see is ‘I’ or ‘June’, which is the name of main character. In the start of the poem she fall in sleep, and never wake up even till the end. Nobody knows is that her dream or awake. The poem is trying to show the readers the mystery of  ‘What happened on June?’.  The fish is nobody, it could be a nightmare or the ‘fish’ just represent June her self.

·The picture is a paint about the poem. On the top it is a bed but the sheet is turning to water and falls down. In the middle, a lot of fish came out of the water and they are swimming to ‘June’. And the last part, at the bottom all the fish gather together and shoved her in to the pool. Also it help the reader can understand this poem easier, clear and interesting. I draw a ‘WHEN?’ and ‘JUNE’ on the side of the paper, it’s because when I was drawing the marker drop on the paper so some words are not that clear, and that why I add this two words here.
