Humanism is a belief that influences almost everyone, sometimes even without you noticing. I read many news about wars happening around the world and as I feel empathetic towards the people who is hurt I think of the concepts of humanism. I think about the concepts of how human rights are valued in humanism, how humans have the right to live without fear of violence. In times when I feel people are not treated with dignity and respect the humanist part of me takes over.  Even in daily life I find myself influenced by the humanism believes. When I face decisions like should I go meet my neighbors, I use the humanism way of solving this problem in stead of the religious way. I analyzed the situation and came up with a solution that I felt is the most logical instead of reading the bible. However, when I see humanists arguing with people who believe in religion I start identifying with both sides. The humanist part of me who believe in science can’t agree more with the humanist; the open minded, empathetic me understand the both sides. How people understand a problem, no matter small or big,  can be deeply influenced by religion/belief. Personally humanism shapes how I view the world but I still keep an open in all beliefs and religion.
