Notebook pages

《Amelia lost》 by Candace Fleming is the story about Amelia Earhart a female pilot. The LIFE and DISAPPEARANCE of Amelia Earhart.

Here are my notebook pages:

First this page is about central ideas, these, and issues. We were looking for any social issues or topics. The topic I found in the book was “Amelia fighting against Gender norms or Gender inequality”, and here are some evidence to support my thinking.

The next notebook page is from the debate, it is also related to the central idea. In this page I wrote a lot of evidenceand reasoning  to show how our central idea works.

This notebook page records how we learned about effects and causes. We learned about the definition and how they are related to each other.

At last this notebook page is “making connections” it is how we connect our book with our life. We briefly considered the author’s purpose, such as “why did the author include this part” and “how can this part connect to different ideas . We studied about how different parts in the story connect to each other.

Are you a Renaissance Humanist ?

Origin by Claire HE [STUDENT]

I chose HUMANISM INDIVIDUALISM TRADE and PRINTING PRESS, these four topics are because I think they are the most important parts of the Renaissance.

about humanism :
Humanism emphasizes personal values and cultural level
This way of thinking sought to balance religious faith with an empha-sis on individual dignity and an interest in nature and human society.
Human beings began to pay attention to and study the documents of
ancient Greece and Rome, and advocated the study of classical literature, history and philosophy. Promote rational thinking and encourage analysis and judgment, which contributes to human research on history and philosophy.
Humanism stimulated artistic creation during the Renaissance, and many artists such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo reflected the human pursuit of beauty and ideals in their works.
I grade my self 2 because I don’t like to research and learn about history and philosophy

about individualism:
Unlike humanism, individualism focuses on individual freedoms and rights rather than on the value of humanity as a whole. Individualism believes that the rights and interests of individuals are greater than the interests of mankind as a whole. Individualism emphasizes the independence and autonomy of each person and believes that everyone has the right to pursue their own goals and lifestyle.
I grade my self 4 because I agree that everyone should have the right to pursue their own goals and activities.

about trade:
Trade promoted economic development and also accelerated the exchange of culture and ideas. Regarding the economy of the Renaissance, trade promoted the rise of cities, especially cities in Italy such as Venice, Genoa, and Florence. These cities were favored by their geographical location , became an important trade center, attracting a large number of merchants and investments, and through trade, culture, art and ideas from different regions were spread.
I grade my self 5 because I used to buy things too, and thats trading.

about printing press
Printing press is a machine used for batch printing. The emergence of printing press has given more people the opportunity to come into contact with literary and scientific works, promoted the spread of knowledge and popularized education. And the printing press helped spread information.
I grade my self 5 because I liked the machine.

thanks for watching !!!!!!

THE STORY ON MY SIDE

My found poem is from “MY SIDE OF THE STORY” by Adam bagdasarian

It is a internal conflict about the main character thinking should he tell the truth. One side is the main character wants a a fair solution to deal with his brother. The other side is about his father’s attitude makes the main character afraid to tell it.

I put a lot of tape in the background because the conflict started by the brother was playing with tape.
