Lost In The Antartic Notebook

Lost in the Antarctic by Tod Olson is a book about Shakleton and his crew going on the “Last Great Adventure” to Antarctica. The story also progresses with a lot of plot twists and surprises in the adventure. In this notebook page, I summarized the two central ideas and put one piece of evidence for each central idea.

As I got more into the book, I started finding a lot more evidence strengthening the first central idea (Antarctica is a dangerous inhabitable space). In the next notebook page are the evidence that I found further into the book.

After I started reading more I noticed that Shakleton had a lot of traits like dedication, so I started writing down the evidence for the two traits that I found. The book also contained moments of motivation, so I wrote the evidence for it as well.

Since I got into the book even more, I started noticing some connections throughout the book connected to different issues. So I listed the two quotes from the book that makes connections.

I highly recommend this book, because of the strong emotions and a lot of surprises. The book also has a very interesting storyline with a lot of detail to really show the setting.

Murderer Or Hero

The found poem bellow is about a story called “Lather and Nothing Else” by Hernando Tellez. The conflict that I found is a internal person to self conflict. The protagonist (Name is not mentioned) thinks about rather if he should kill the man or not. The man is called “Captain Torres” he has the job of leading a group of people that hunts down people and kills them. The protagonist is really pissed about this causing him to think hard for the dilemma of killing him or not. The The poem shows our protagonist’s self conversation, and keeps going back and forth between the choices of killing him or not. The graphic design is suppose to show the bad side of the protagonist and the good side of the protagonist, the knife, angle wings and colors show the differences between the two sides of our protagonist.
