My favorite photo:

When I look at this photo, I am drawn to the face and how the slow shutter speed elongates it. Some parts that seem distracting are the shadows formed by the arms, which resemble stiff wings. I did not edit the exposure on the final image, and I took the picture with decreased exposure. It could have looked better with a more transparent background and smoother lines around the colored circles. However, I intended the photo to appear natural and calm, and I wanted it to be both clear and blurred. I chose to use these two colors, blue and orange, because they are the most commonly seen colors and can be seen everywhere as contrasting colors. With this light, I used a strainer-type kitchen tool to create the colored circles, which ended up beautifully.

My least favorite photo:

This photo is my least favorite out of the good images because, firstly, I set it on really low exposure, almost showing no face at all; the light is just really dim. The shadow of the model is not positioned well, which I could change by simply adjusting the position of the light. For me, I get drawn to the light instead of the model first, without any leading lines, which feels really weird. Additionally, the model has a somewhat unflattering facial expression compared to all my other photos, especially with the light shining upwards, which makes it even more unappealing. Although this photo somewhat conveys the model’s personality (she’s often mad at me), this is not the story I wanted to convey.
