"I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious" - Albert Einstein

Flowers in the Gutter notebook summative

The book “Flowers in the Gutter” by K . R . GADDY is a book documenting the life of 3 protagonists; Gertrud, Fanz and Jean. They are all victims of hitler’s  As the book progresses from life before and during hitler’s reign, the character’s hate for their all Fruher grows.

My notebook pages show how central ideas my group and I have found, become more or less relevant as the book progresses.

The first screenshot (which wasn’t unclear before adding it to the blog) depicts how the central idea “Hitler’s rule was surrounded by lies” was relevant in the early stages of the book. There are 3 cases of why this is ( Hitler promised good jobs, it was confidently stated they were safe and the Gestapo in general) supported by 2 evidences each

This next photo is of tracking the narrative events in the story. It talks about how the characters walk through the setting in a very natural manner, remembering how the now piles of rubble was their favorite ice cream shop or friends apartment, relating to the somewhat controversial central idea ” Memories aren’t   meaningful until you can’t recreate it again”.

This is my finding arguments/ town hall page, on it you can find the complete prone state our group was in, which was due to us making our claim too controversial. Our claim was “the law should be ignored if it doesn’t align with your morals”.  As you would expect we got flamed beyond recognition.

This is my favorite page as it is the best one, it is all my central ideas relating to social issues with evidence then relating to the issues. An example is the central idea “even rebel teenagers had no freedom in nazi Germany” relates to a corrupt government and lack of freedom. The evidence for this is on page 31 when gertrud had to hide at the back of the class to get away with not doing the Hitler salut.
