Statement of intent

Abstract architecture

Message: What you want your audience to think about (cultural, environmental, and/or global context)

Audience Response: I want my audience to feel…..(what kind of emotional response are you hoping for?)

Inspiration: I will get inspiration and develop my ideas by looking for photographs that.. (show, explore, ………

The theme i will focus on is the reflections of objects. Many reflective surfaces, such as water, glass, mirrors, and glassware filled with water, could produce reflections or mirror effects. These reflections can capture the basic outlines of reflected objects but also convey characteristics like three-dimensionality and tone, making them more expressive than shadows. I want the audience to appreciate the illusion created, and feeling difficult to distinguish illusion and reality.

Formal Elements of Photography”

Explain what the phrase Formal Elements means in photography.

Formal elements includes: line, shape, pattern, texture, form and tone. These elements bring order to composition and helps better emphasis critical aspects from shots.

Describe each of the 6 elements discussed so far (line, shape, pattern, texture, tone, focus)

-line: guides eyes to objects in pictures and emphasizes movement

-shape: Geometric or organic shapes

-pattern: Objects that creates rhythm or pattern(reflections and echoes) by repeating.

-texture: It adds depth and reality to the shots so the pictures become more alive.

-form: a 3 dimensional figure using the difference between light and shadows to better illustrated the depth of and object.

focus: sharpest area of a shot that emphasizes the focus

tone: refers to the darkness and lightness of a color in a picture

Give an example that emphasizes each element (you can use your own image or an image from somebody else – but it must be cited!)

Art Wolfe

Can an image show just one element at a time? Justify your answer.
