This Found Poem based on the story “button button” explores the external conflict within the text where the main characters struggled whether not to push the button to get $50,000 but a person dies at the same time. One example was when Norma said, “Suppose it’s a genuine offer” however, Arthur argued, “What would you like to do? Get the button back and push it? Murder someone?” This can show the intense of their argument. Another piece of evidence that shows it is when Norma clearly shows her greedy desire when she said, “50,000 dollars, a trip to Europe we wanted”. This can show how she does anything that benefits herself but disadvantageous others. This story also shows the clear characterization throughout. Mr. Stewart represents an ambiguous figure. He doesn’t show right or wrong clearly, but he is testing to see if they’ll take the money even though it means a people they “do not know” will die. He is more likely doing a wicked test seeking people’s reality. And the moral side which is Arthur that thought it is immoral to kill someone even though to get money. The graphic I included in the poem shows the two side “evil and moral” which I divided it into two parts. The one on the right side which is the dark side, represent the actions and words said by the evil characters Mr. Stewart and Norma, the red font makes a clear difference of the evil side and the bright side. The left side represents Arthur, and the green font represents his pureness.
