The Cuban revolution made a lot of impacts today. Cuba’s economy changed drastically, especially after the M-26-7 took over Cuba. Fidel Castro took full control, in a form of dictatorship, when he was Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. He was a dictator until he died peacefully. But when he became a dictator, and also a communist, the US attempted to assassinate Castro 637 times until he died of old age, in 2016. Overall, Cuba played a big part in the conflicts of the Cold War. It began from the Bay of Pigs sent by the US, and a major problem was when Russia gave Cuba a nuclear missile-only 90 miles away from the US! Though Castro left positive changes to Cuba as well: They provided free health care and education to any Cuban citizen no matter who they are (they attempted to solve inequality). They also signed contracts with multiple countries such as Russia and China, which formed better relationships between countries, and were able to save the Cuban economy from the Sugar Act made by the US in an attempt to sabotage the Cuban Economy (Cuba’s economy was mostly from Sugar). Finally, the M-26-7 gave every farmer in Cuba agricultural land, up to 13.42 hectares, called “usufruct rights.
