You may have heard of the phrase, ‘America has a short history’. Although today America is known as one of the most powerful nations in the world, as it has great military forces, global influences, economic strength, and many more, it is actually true that America has a shorter history compared to other nations around the world. It was in 1492 when America was first discovered by Christopher Columbus. After this, the British fought the French for seven years to gain power over the land of America. However, the British shouldn’t have done that because now the British people who moved into America were rebelling against Britain. The British had very little money due to the money spent on the war, but the colonies were not willing to pay their tax. These events cause multiple battles to happen. The video below captures the many dramatic and crucial scenes of the American Revolution. While you are watching the video, think to yourself, how would you have survived the revolution if you were there?

The main similarity is that they were trying to overthrow the government. Also, they are both caused because of taxation. But the main difference is that the french was trying to destroy their government and not trying to remove theirs because the Americans were trying to remove the British.`
